Arizona Baseball lands in Lubbock Regional

Posted: Updated:

The Arizona Wildcat baseball team will play in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season, and this year their play will start in Lubbock, TX.

The Wildcats are the #2 seed in the Lubbock Regional, where Texas Tech hosts. Arizona will play #3 seed Sam Houston State -- the same team they faced in last year's opening NCAA Tournament game -- on Friday. Texas Tech is the top seed in the regional and the #5 overall seed in the country. The Red Raiders will face Delaware in their opening game.

Arizona finished the season 37-19 and 16-14 in Pac-12 play. The Wildcats are the only team in the conference to make the NCAA Tournament in both 2016 and 2017.
