Hittin' the Trails 4 You: Madera Canyon's Super Trail

Posted: Updated:

MADERA CANYON - Sweltering temperatures are in the forecast this weekend. Perfect time to hit the trails at cooler locations.

Besides the fact temperatures are 15° cooler than Tucson, the Super Trail in the Santa Ritas offers a lot for weekend warriors. The trail crosses a stream bed several times & is flanked by views of Mount Wrightson and the famed Madera Canyon birds.

You can spot bird species with help from a guide found at the trailhead.

The Super Trail is not for the faint of heart, as the elevation gain checks in at a whopping 4,000 feet.
