3 Tucson-area high schools among best in the country

Three high schools in the Tucson area are among the top 15 in the country. 

Two charter schools - No. 2 Basis Tucson North and No. 3 Basis Oro Valley - made the top five and a TUSD school - University High School - came in at No. 15, according to U.S. News & World Report rankings.

The magazine awards schools gold, silver and bronze medals, with gold indicating the top level of college readiness. The highest percentage of eligible schools that received gold and silver medals were in Maryland, Florida and California. 

Arizona claimed five of the top 10 spots in the country.
