Sean Miller and the Wildcat basketball team welcome have officially welcomed assistant coach Lorenzo Romar to the administrative staff. Romar was the former head coach for the Washington Huskies for 15 years, and will now be a strong addition to the Wildcats.

Lorenzo Romar played for the Washington Huskies from 1978-1980. He was then drafted to the Golden State Warriors where he played for five years. After his career in the NBA, he became the assistant coach at UCLA and was accredited for his recruiting skills in 1995.  UCLA (the University of California Los Angeles) went on to win the 1995 national championship that year.

After his time in Southern California, Romar was the head coach at Pepperdine University and then at Saint Louis University before receiving the head coach seat at Washington in 2002.

With six NCAA appearances underneath his belt and his reputation as one of the top basketball recruiters in the country, Arizona looks forward to having Romar this upcoming season.
