4 Your Health: Exercise for children and attempts to put cigarettes out for good.

Posted: Updated:

Tucson- A new study reveals three quarters of smokers who tried to kick the habit used more than one method during their most recent attempt.

The three most common quit methods were cutting back, quitting cold turkey and switching to E-cigarettes.

E-cigarettes were used more often than the nicotine patch or gum, even though they are not approved by the FDA.

New data shows adolescents who take physical education more frequently, are more fit and more informed about the health benefits of exercise.

Middle schoolers who had regular PE classes were more likely to meet the federal recommendation of an hour of activity a day.

However, one in five students in the study had no physical education at all  and nearly 40-percent were obese or overweight.

Experts said physical education has also been shown to improve student's academic performance.
