Spreading the message of 'Justice for Baby Wyllow'

Posted: Updated:

The death of a Tucson infant earlier this year has prompted a growing social-media movement.

Wyllow Brewer was alive for just six short months, but it seems her life, that was taken far too soon, has made a lasting impression.

“For $1,200 within a week? I think that's pretty amazing,” said Rose Silvestre, founder of the ‘Justice for Baby Wyllow’ Facebook page.

Silvestre started the social media page with a number of goals. One of them, was to raise $1,200 for a memorial bench for Wyllow at Tucson’s Children’s Memorial Park

“I'm thankful that people take the time out of their day to do what I'm doing in a way, showing their love for a baby that they didn't know,” Silvestre told the News 4 Tucson Investigators.

Silvestre told us the bench should be completed and installed at the park within approximately three months.

It's not just in Tucson where Wyllow is being remembered.  There are photos from across the United States and beyond, that help show the precious little girl lives on in people’s hearts.

“She wasn't heard when she was alive, so, we're hearing her now,” said Alyssa Pennington, who has a daughter just a few weeks younger than Wyllow.

Sharing these photos from around the world is yet another way to help keep Wyllow's spirit alive, and more

“To get her name out there, to help other kids that are being abused,” Pennington said.

Members of the ‘Justice for Baby Wyllow’ group have also created T-shirts. They will also have a car-wash. Events such as these will help raise money, and, perhaps more importantly, they will help raise awareness.

“We're just going to keep doing things for her, and hopefully, she sees and she's watching,” Pennington said.
