Kids and teachers at Vesey Elementary School took part in a pep rally today, getting hyped for AzMERIT, Arizona’s standardized test.
Students held signs, encouraging 3rd-5th graders to do their best on the test.
There was lots of chanting, music and dancing.
The AzMERIT measures student proficiency in English Language Arts and Math.
Exam results could also determine school letter grades.
"I want them motivated. I want them in the right frame of mind to feel that they can do their very best and show them how awesome they are how smart how talented and how wonderful our kids are at Vesey are,” said Jeffrey Uhrig, principal of Vesey Elementary School.
Last year, nearly 40 percent of Arizona students passed the AzMERIT.
