UPDATE: One way the March of Dimes is working to end premature birth is through the reduction of early elective deliveries without medical need. The 39 Weeks campaign educateS women and health care providers about the important development that happens in those last few weeks of pregnancy.  If you’re pregnancy is healthy, it’s best for labor to begin on its own.

UPDATE:  At the March of Dimes’ network of Prematurity Research Centers, scientists and researchers are finding answers to the unknown causes of premature birth. To learn more click here.


UPDATE:  March of Dimes Researchers are making big strides and say up to one-quarter of preterm births might be prevented if we focused on three risk factors: birth spacing, weight before pregnancy and weight gain during pregnancy. UPDATE: Arizona law mandates testing for 31 of 34 conditions on the federal Recommended Uniform Screening Panel list. UPDATE: Just 23 days until we "March for Babies."  The March of Dimes CARES and "S" stands for Support.  The March of Dimes' NICU Family Support Program helps parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) during one of the most difficult times in their lives. 1 in 10 babies is born too soon, too sick, or too small. You can help fund this program by joining the March, April 30 at Reid Park.


UPDATE: 24 days and counting - The March of Dimes CARES and the "E" stands for Education. The March of Dimes works to provide all moms with the latest pregnancy health information.

Mission: Healthy Baby, an educational baby shower in partnership with the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System and Citi for active and veteran moms-to-be, launched in 2016 and provided supplies and education to 40 expecting moms.  


UPDATE: 25 days and counting - March of Dimes CARES and the “R” is for Research. Did you know, the U-of-A’s been awarded over $2.2 million in research & education grants since 1983.

UPDATE: 27 days and counting: The March of Dimes CARES.  C stands for Community. Over the last 7 years, Tucson has seen over $115,000 awarded in community grants to seven different organizations. Funds, raised at the Tucson March for Babies event, April 30, will help support these community grants.  Join us and help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies.

KVOA News 4 Tucson and Kristi's Kids are counting down to the 30th annual March of Dimes "March for Babies" in Tucson!

Sunday, April 30 at Reid Park we're inviting you to join us as we raise money and awareness for the March of Dimes in Arizona!  This years goal is to raise $150,000 so gather a team and sign up now! 

The March of Dimes helps support local families in the NICU with premature babies.  It also funds research to make future births more successful.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2015, one out of every 10-babies was born premature.
