Facebook group seeking "Justice for Baby Wyllow"

Posted: Updated:

The News 4 Tucson Investigators continue to follow the case of Wyllow Brewer, the six-month-old girl murdered, last month on the northwest side. Her tragic death has triggered a social media movement, as Tucsonans try to find "Justice for Baby Wyllow."

“I started it, because I was very bothered by this case, and I have a daughter of my own as well,” Facebook page founder, Rose Silvestre told the News 4 Tucson Investigators.

Rose told us, she wants everyone in Tucson to hear Wyllow’s story. And with every day, the “Justice for Baby Wyllow” Facebook page membership grows, even beyond Tucson.

“East coast, west coast, even up in Canada. It's spreading way more than I expected it to,” Rose said.

“Honestly, how much the community has come together with this case, I think it's awesome. I really do,” added Cristi Hubbard, the “Justice for Baby Wyllow” page moderator. Like Rose, Cristi is also a mom.

“I notice the majority of our members are mothers. And, so I think that just hits really close to a mother, that you would hurt something so defenseless,” Cristi added.

Cristi and Rose dreamed up the idea of creating purple “Justice for Baby Wyllow” wristbands. The pair hopes people will wear one all day, every day, until there is justice* in Wyllow's case.

“She was too young. She had a whole life ahead of her,” Cristi told us.

“She was just a helpless little baby. She was defenseless. And, to us, as a community, that's just not right, or fair to her,” Rose added.

The Facebook group is hoping to raise money, to install   memorial bench for Wyllow at Children's Memorial Park. The fundraising goal is $1,200.  Group members have been organizing car-washes, rummage sales, and more, in an effort to keep the Memory of Wyllow alive.

“Everybody is coming together to make this bench for Wyllow happen,” Rose told the News 4 Tucson Investigators.

“This case, just, it means so much to a lot of people,” added Cristi.

These two friends, and an entire Facebook community, are now working as one, to make sure that no one forgets.

“People gave up on her. The ones that were supposed to love her, and I feel like us as a community should be there for her, Rose said.
