Having a few drinks a week may lower the risk of some but not all types of heart disease.

British researchers studied the link between alcohol consumption and 12 cardiovascular diseases in nearly two million adults. Moderate drinkers only had a lower risk of developing three conditions, angina, heart failure and stroke, compared to non-drinkers.

Experts say increasing exercise and quitting smoking are safer and more effective ways to protect against heart disease.

People with autism are three times more likely to die from an injury than those in the general population.

A new Columbia University study found deaths among autistic people have increased by 700 percent in the past 16 years and about one in four were caused by an injury like suffocation, asphyxiation and drowning.

The study also found children with autism are 160 times more likely to drown than their peers.

New information for parents of young children who love juice.

New research shows a small amount is unlikely to cause weight problems. Kids under six who drank one serving a day of 100 percent fruit juice showed only a small amount of weight gain. Older children had no weight changes related to juice consumption.

Doctors still recommend only four to six ounces of fruit juice a day for younger children and eight to 12 ounces for teens.
