Car seat safety check set for Saturday

Posted: Updated:

Keeping kids safe should be the top priority for parents and caregivers. One big part of that, is making sure that the car seat you use is properly installed.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is teaming up with Safe Kids Pima County, the Tucson Police Department, and the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety, to host a free car seat check. The event will take place on March 18th, at the Tucson Medical Center's Square and Compass Children's Clinic, located at 2600 North Wyatt Drive. From 9:00 a.m. until Noon, you can learn about proper car seat installation from trained deputies, officers, and other community partners.

Statistics show that collisions involving motor vehicle are the number one  cause of unintentional deaths for children between the ages of one and 19. More that 50 kids died in crashes in 2014, due to non-use or misuse of child restraint systems.
