4 Your Health: Fake marijuana more dangerous than real weed

Posted: Updated:

Tucson- A new government study finds additional risks for teens who use synthetic, or man-made, forms of marijuana.

Researchers found that high school students who had used fake weed, were much more likely to use other drugs and engage in risky sexual or violent behaviors than those who used marijuana only.

Experts say these findings are concerning because one in ten teens have tried synthetic pot.

Fertility therapy and heart disease

Women who undergo fertility treatments but fail to become pregnant may be at risk for heart related problems later in life.

New data, from the Canadian Medical Association Journal, shows these women were 19 percent more likely to develop cardiac disease, especially heart failure and stroke, then those who did conceive after fertility therapy.

Researchers say fertility patients should not panic but they should closely monitor any early symptoms of heart disease.
