4 Your Health: Jogging doesn't run you down

Tucson- Many believe that running wears away cartilage in the knees and causes arthritis. But a daily jog may actually help protect your knees.

Researchers at Brigham Young University studied fluid from the knees of 30 young adults, before and after, they went for a run.

After just a half hour of running, their knees had less inflammation and reduced levels of a protein linked to arthritis. Sitting, though, for 30 minutes actually increased inflammation in their knees.

And the key to memorizing important information, is to tell someone about it.

Scientists at Baylor University asked a group of college students to remember details about a series of movie clips, using three different strategies.

Those who told someone about the clips, soon after seeing them, were more likely to remember specific details about the clips, for a longer period of time.

Experts say this memorizing technique could be a better way to study for tests, instead of cramming with textbooks or class notes.
