What’s Driving You Crazy: Using bike lanes

Posted: Updated:

Bicyclists- you may relate to this week's concern.

David said this drives him crazy: "People who use the bike lane as a right turn lane for their cars. It's one of the reasons I only ride on the paths anymore."

He specifically mentioned Westbound Ina east of Oracle Road, at Yucca, as a problem.

Under Arizona state law, a driver can't use a vehicle in a bicycle lane. It is only allowed in case of emergency or for crossing the lane to get access to another road or driveway. In that case, a driver must yield to a cyclist when turning through gaps.

What else is driving you crazy? Let Melanie Hunter know here.
