Tucson- Students who almost dropped out of high school got their diplomas Thursday night.

It was all apart of Tucson Unified School District's Winter Graduation Ceremony, at Catalina High School.

12 of the 126 graduates were brought back to class, through the district's "Steps to Success" program.

Nine others attended teenage parent high school, and several more got their diplomas early.

"There are sacrifices that you have to make and if you go ahead and make them right now, you're gonna do better in life," graduate Angel Martinez said. "It'll be more rewarding if you make bigger sacrifices."

TUSD's winter break begins Friday, with classes resuming January 9th.
