TUCSON -

Playing peacemaker in a local bar cost their son his life. Five years later, they are still searching for answers and justice.

Marcos Felix was murdered on Oct. 19, 2011.

He used to play Santa Claus during the holidays.

"He was the right size,” his dad, George Felix, said. Now, all Raquel and George Felix have are memories of their son Marcos.

“That's one thing nobody can ever take away from you is the memories," Raquel Felix said. "Memories are with you forever .”

Marco Felix stopped at the Lazy V Saloon five years ago. Witnesses said there were two women fighting outside in the parking lot. He stepped in to break up the fight.

“Someone out of the dark, we figured a boyfriend of one of the ladies hit him from behind,” his father said.

Pima County Sheriff's Department said he died in the hospital after he collapsed during a fight outside the bar. Witnesses gave a description of the suspect as being Hispanic, in his mid 30’s,  5 feet, 10 inches tall, and between 250 and 350 lbs,

Det. Jason Davila said, a bystander took the suspect, who was wearing a white shirt, off of Marco Felix to other side of the building. When the bystander looked up, he said Felix got up and then collapsed.

“The bystander ran over as quickly as possible," Davila said. "Then a female on scene, who was an EMT, began giving him chest compressions while he went inside to alert the staff to call 911.”

"Somebody knows something. Somewhere," George Felix said.

PCSD officials agree.

“The bar had closed and people were filtering out so there were people inside out. Somebody definitely knows what happened," Davila said. "We would like that person to step forward. “

“Like my wife said, we need closure to this, and I miss my son," said George Felix.

Marcos Felix left behind seven children. Since his murder, he has had two grandchildren, who will never know their Tata.

“I know that one day, I will see him again and only God knows when,” Raquel Felix said.

This is the second son they have lost to violence in 2000. Their eldest son, Albert, was  murdered.

Anyone with information is advised to call 88-CRIME or 911.
