Report: Nebraska to poach DB Coach Donte Williams from Arizona

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON -

The Nebraska football program reportedly will be hiring Arizona assistant coach Donte Williams to fill the staff vacancy created after the program dismissed Bruce Read as their special teams coach.

Williams appears to be the leading candidate to fill the vacant position and that an agreement may already be in the process.

Williams spent this last year as Arizona’s secondary coach. He also was the Wildcat’s top recruiter. Of the nine recruits Williams has pulled in so far in the 2017 class, three are four-star prospects.

Williams is well known on the West Coast. He is considered as one of the top recruiters in the Pac-12 conference.

If this report follows through, it will have major implications on the future of the secondary and recruiting class at Arizona.
