16th ranked Arizona rebounded from a loss to unbeaten Butler by jumping out to a 19-4 lead and never looking back in the 85-63 victory over Texas Southern. SEE HIGHLIGHTS FROM KVOA NEWS 4 TUCSON SPORTSCAST

Freshman 7-footer Lauri Markkanan had 11 points in the game's first 11 minutes, hitting all three of his shots from beyond the arc.  He'd score 19 points, grab 6 rebounds and dish out 5 assists.  Markkanan was also 5 of 6 from three point range and played tough defense.

Freshman Kobe Simmons scored 15 points and had 4 assists in the winning effort for the Cats.

Senior point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright had to leave the game in the first half with an apparent ankle injury.  His status is still unclear.

Next up for Arizona is nationally ranked Gonzaga on Saturday in Los Angeles, California.
