Pima B-Ball Team Scores 130 points for 3rd straight game

The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (3-0) scored over 130 points for the third straight game on Wednesday.

The Aztecs defeated Arizona Christian University’s JV team 133-87 at the West Campus gymnasium.

The Aztecs had another strong start as they went on a 20-4 run in the first 4:20 seconds of the game and took a 65-45 lead at halftime. The Aztecs went on a 17-0 run mid-way through the second half and outscored the Firestorm 68-42 in the second half.

Sophomore Damon Dubots scored 18 of his 27 points in the first half and also finished with seven rebounds, four assists and one block. Fellow sophomore Emilio Acedo (Salpointe Catholic HS) drained four 3-pointers and had 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Sophomore Jacob Anastasi (Cactus Shadows HS) had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Dakota Kordsiemon (Catalina Foothills HS) and freshman Ilunga Moise (Raymond S. Kellis HS) each finished a rebound short of double-doubles as Moise had 17 points and nine boards while Kordsiemon had 11 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Isaiah Murphy (Cienega HS) had 18 points and freshman Alize Travis had 12 points.

The Aztecs will host Utah State University-Eastern on Sunday at the West Campus gym. The game starts at 2:00 p.m.
