Crime Trackers: Tips from viewers lead to 2 arrests in armed robbery

Two men are behind bars in connection to a business robbery that occurred earlier this month. One of the suspects was wearing a Batman mask at the time of the incident.

Detectives said Cesar Ortiz had an accomplice named Francisco Real.

Ortiz, 28, and Real, 27, were arrested after investigators said they received numerous tips after our story aired on Oct. 13.

Witnesses told News 4 Tucson the men first showed up at the Super Pawn Shop. They were trying to sell merchandise.  

When Ortiz did not like the price he was given, they left. 28-year-old Ortiz returned wearing a batman mask.

All of this was caught on surveillance cameras.

Ortiz then went the Mobile Boost Store in the same shopping center, where he held up one of the employees at gunpoint. 

After the story aired, TPD said they received numerous tips.

Ortiz is charged with two counts of armed robbery aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

Real is being held on a felony probation violation warrant.

Additional charges are pending, according to detectives.
