Engineering students at the University of Arizona are testing their skills in the "Solar Oven Project."
They like to call it "The Throwdown." It is an annual event where students build a model and test it. After the test, they build a final oven, powered only by Arizona's sun.
Students build the oven with reflectors, oven chambers, and insulation to trap the heat.
This year, the students made biscuits. The winners received bragging rights and a platter of sun-made biscuits.
