Honoring Legacy of Father Kino & Supporting His Path To Sainthood

A local church is following in the footsteps of the Pima County Public Libraries by having an "Hispanic Heritage Month" exhibition honoring one of the non-native "Founding Fathers" of this region: Padre Kino".

Churches like our Lady of Fatima are stepping up efforts to eventually get Father Eusebio Francisco Kino canonized and on the path to sainthood. 

Father Vicente Lopez said, "They're celebrating the food, the dance, and the legacy of Father Kino. So, it's a celebration of who we are as a border people. Ozzie Carrillo We are invoking a border saint in Father Kino, and we're calling him a man for all pueblos."
