N4T Investigators: Family, HOA find resolution over property damage

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON -

John and Susan Lorka say that while they were caring for their sick son, their Home Owner Association stacked up sandbags in front of their home. Soon after the Lorka's property flooded, the HOA refused to pay until News 4 Investigators called.

After our story aired, the HOA changed their minds.

Lorka says the HOA has agreed to pay to fix the damage done to his property, including deep ruts, piles of mud, standing water and questions about his foundation that all started after the Eagle Crest HOA decided to use sandbags to divert water away from the street and onto Lorka's property.

Eight sandbags are still stacked up outside their home.

The HOA changed their minds after a board meeting discussion. None of the board members returned our requests for comment.
