Here's more, from the press release on the The golf tournament also included "pre-game-day" discussions on bi-national multi-organizational efforts that assist with community and economic development efforts in the Arizona-Sonora Region, including the bi-national Pascua Yaqui Tribe and Tohono O’odham Nation communities.
In addition, there will be a recognition of the Patronato de Kino de Tucson, a non-profit organization in Pima County whose work focuses on three areas: education, cultural diversity and community development for disadvantaged youth and families in this Region.

The Patronato is the only organization in the Region that, based on Father Eusebio Francisco Kino legacy, provides bi-national educational services that promote the diverse cultural and spiritual heritage of Hispanics and indigenous communities, cultural enrichment initiatives through convocations and tours, and community development through collaborative endeavors of charity to provide direct services to underprivileged youth and families.
Ricardo Pineda, Consul of Mexico in Tucson, stated: “We are proud to participate in this event that recognizes the Patronato de Kino de Tucson, an important organization with whom we share a common goal of working in benefit of a more unified community”.

In 1961, the state of Arizona proclaimed Father Eusebio Francisco Kino, S.J. as "Arizona's foremost pioneer … illustrious for his early missionary work, exploration and cartography" and authorized the raising of private funds to place a statue of Father Kino in the United States Capitol as one of Arizona's two heroic representatives of our nation. Father Kino, joined by the desert-sharing O'odham people, built more than two dozen missions, including Tumacácori, Guevavi and San Xavier del Bac, during his 24 years of tireless work in today's Southern Arizona and Northern Sonora. On February 14, 2015, Mayor Jonathon Rothschild and the City of Tucson declared February Father Eusebio Francisco Kino Month.

“The Patronato de Kino de Tucson celebrates the life and collaborative work of Kino ‘A Man of All Pueblos’, specifically his connection to our Arizona-Sonora Region. We thank Consul Pineda, the Region’s governments and organizations like the International Celebrity Golf Tournament that recognize our efforts and extend their collaboration.” said Father Vicente Lopez, Executive Director of the Patronato.
