Crime Trackers: Oro Valley Police clear six cases with one arrest

Posted: Updated:

Oro Valley Police officers said they recently cleared six unsolved cases, with a single arrest.

Detectives say about $6, 000 worth of furniture was taken from a Tucson Circus Furniture store.

And it’s located next to the luxury apartment complex were Noah Robertson lived and where he was evicted from.

“It turns out that most, if not all, of everything in the apartment had been stolen,” said Lisa Rosenfelt, vice president of operations for HSL Properties. They own Encantada, where rents range from $925 to about $1,500.

Police say on May 5, Robertson was evicted for not paying his rent. When crews went to clean up, they found some of the furniture “that had been stolen from our model apartments in weeks previously,” Rosenfelt said.

They found ceramic vases, some with metal cactus, and ceramic end tables that had been spray painted. All of the items were in a third-floor apartment.

They also found “property that had been stolen from landscaping property from residents of the Oro Valley community.”

Sgt. Matt Horetski says detectives found nearly $10,000 worth of stolen items.

Three days after the eviction, an officer saw Robertson in the complex.

“He did invoke his rights so he wouldn't discuss why he was back in the area.”

Police believe he may have returned to the complex to retrieve some of the stolen items.

“A search of the truck [he was in] revealed the presence of a useable amount of meth and heroin,” Horetski said.

Robertson was arrested and is facing multiple drug charges along with theft and burglary.  Detectives say they cleared six of the 12 cases they had.

“It does make you feel safe” Rosenfelt said. “And the response from the OVPD also makes you feel safe.  Because they were on top of it the minute we contacted them.”
