ORO VALLEY -

Oro Valley Police Department identified a suspected burglar using high tech equipment. Now, they are asking the public's help to find him.

It was a brazen robbery in broad daylight that was caught on surveillance cameras last February. OVPD now has a name to go with the suspect's face. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Robert Stark.

Nearly $40,000 worth of items were stolen during this burglary.

Stark was caught on home surveillance video. He was seen in the back patio of the house. The video showed him grabbing a rock and breaking a window. He then pulled a piece of furniture to climb inside.

Detectives said this is how they got their break. Lt. Kara Riley is the spokeswoman for OVPD.

“We were able to gather forensic evidence from the scene and we were able to coordinate with the Department of Public Safety’s crime lab,” said Riley.

The Rapid Hit 200 is the latest in crime fighting technology. It speeds up the process to catch the criminals. Robert Stark, the suspect, happened to already have DNA in the criminal justice system.

According to the Department of Corrections website, Stark is 54 years old and is a career criminal. His crime history is extensive, dating all the way back to 1987. He has been convicted of multiple burglaries, theft, armed robbery and kidnapping. The police consider him dangerous, and stress that he needs to be arrested. He was indicted on May 23 for several felony counts.

In February when he was caught on camera, he was in and out of the house in less than 10 minutes and loaded the stolen items into a brown or tan SUV.

“OVPD takes every case in our community seriously," said Riley. "We have a victim who has been out of $40,000."

If you know Robert Stark and his whereabouts, contact 911. Call 88-CRIME if you want to remain anonymous.
