What’s Driving You Crazy: Alvernon Potholes

Posted: Updated:

Potholes are a constant traffic talker in Tucson. A couple people told us where it's been really rough lately.

Krissy W. said "all the potholes on Alvernon Road. It's a very bumpy ride, mainly between Fort Lowell and Grant in both directions.”

Construction is underway on Alvernon between Fort Lowell and Speedway. On Thursday, crews began removing asphalt.

The repaving work kicks off Monday morning. That's expected to last through the following Tuesday, March 15th. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Plan for lane closures through the construction area during this time. At least one travel lane in each direction will be maintained.

Then comes utility adjustments. Drivers can expect restrictions to be in place for up to 24 hours to allow concrete around utilities to dry.
