Hittin' the Trails 4 You: Pair of wildflower hot spots in Tucson

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - The desert is starting to dazzle. We're "Hittin' the Trails" at a dynamic duo of trails where wildflowers are going to put on a show.

The El Camino del Cerro Trailhead resides in the Tucson Mountains. It's home to the short Thunderbird Trail and the moderately difficult Sweetwater Trail. Lots of poppies can be found, flanking the well maintained paths. Click here for the El Camino del Cerro Trailhead map.

More photo ops await at the King Canyon Trailhead. This is another moderate hike, leading to the summit of the Tucson Mountains: Wasson Peak. Trekking poles may be needed, as hikers traverse an elevation gain of roughly 1,800 feet. Click here for the King Canyon Trailhead map.
