An ongoing construction project is packing on the travel times for some drivers.
Andrew S. says it's "Valencia Road out on the west side of town from Wade to east of Camino Verde. The morning commute for those folks is the worst."
Right now, the speed limit is down to 25 mph in both directions of Valencia in the construction zone.
According to the project manager with Pima County Department of Transportation, crews are finishing up shoulder work. A new signal was installed last week at Valencia and Wade.
The project manager expects final paving work to begin the week of February 16. This phase of the project is expected to be complete in March.
Construction adds another lane in both directions from Mark Road to Wade Road, so that should help alleviate congestion during the morning rush. There's also drainage improvements, which should prevent flooding come Monsoon.
