TUCSON -

The YWCA of Southern Arizona launched a new initiative to help woman and girls in need throughout southern Arizona.

Project Period, which launched Wednesday morning, will gather tampons, sanitary pads and other feminine hygiene products and distribute the items to people in need.

“We want to be sure, month in and month out, even when the holiday season is over, that no one has to miss work or school because they don’t have the supplies they need,” said CEO YWCA of Southern Arizona Kelly Fryer.

Anyone who wishes to donate feminine hygiene supplies to those in need can drop off the products at the YWCA, located at 525 S. Bonita Ave.
