Tucson police arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly killing a 73-year-old man and assaulting a 56-year-old woman in a midtown apartment Thursday night.
According to TPD, Biven Dryden and the woman were sitting in their residence in the 5500 block of East 14th Street, when Malick Fuller allegedly entered the home through an unlocked door around 9:45 p.m.
According the victim, she said the suspect first hit her boyfriend in the head with a two-by-four, and then hit her with the two-by-four in the head and hand when she tried calling 911. The victim said the suspect then demanded money.
The victim said they didn’t have any money and were on social security. The suspect eventually left the apartment. Police said Fuller was found in the area and taken into custody.
Dryden was transported to the hospital, but died early Friday morning due to his injuries. The female victim suffered serious injuries.
According to TPD, Fuller was booked into the Pima County Jail for first degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of attempted armed robbery.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the case to call 88-CRIME.
