Posted: Updated:

COCHISE COUNTY - It's a hidden treasure well east of Tucson, nestled in the Dragoon Mountains.

Named for the Chiricahua Apache leader Cochise, the Cochise Trail is a 4.5 mile out and back hike. This trek navigates an elevation gain of 1,000 feet through the rugged Cochise Stronghold. Among the highlights of this hike is out of this world rock croppings. A sight to behold that makes the drive from Tucson worth it.

Plan on a 4-6 hour investment round trip.
