Men also at risk for breast cancer

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - According to the American Cancer Society in 2015, about 2,350 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in men and about 440 will die from the disease.

Although it's rare, health officials from the Arizona Cancer Center say men need to be just as cautious as women.

"Many men don't find their cancers early because painless bumps are ignored that's how breast cancer presents itself. They tend to ignore it. They don't have a routine mammogram scheduled every year," Oncology Nurse, Beth High said.

For men, the risk of getting breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000.
