Governor Doug Ducey visits Tucson charter school

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Governor Doug Ducey visited Alta Vista High School on Tuesday morning, as part of his "back to school" tour.

The governor met with around 500 students and toured classrooms at the charter school. So far he's visited: Phoenix Collegiate Academy, Metro Tech High School and Vista College Preparatory in Phoenix, Puente de Hozho Elementary School in Flagstaff and Peoria High School.

"It's people that have the opportunity to go on to college or go on to build a fulfilling career. We want these kids to have skills after twelve years in these classrooms that they can apply to their real life," said Governor Ducey.

The governor visited six different schools in Arizona for his tour.
