ORACLE- An Oracle man was arrested on July 23 after deputies say he attempted to have a rattlesnake bite another man.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, Nathaniel Buck Harrison, 53, showed up at the victim's house in the 1100 block of North Justice Drive and went inside uninvited. Once inside, PCSO said Harrison struck the victim over the head with a board, before attempting to have a rattlesnake he brought bite the victim.

When the rattlesnake would not bite the victim, deputies say Harrison made the man kneel on the ground and fired a round into a speaker box located near the victim's foot.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said the reason Harrison showed up at the victim's house is because he "accused the victim of being a 'rat' and sending his friend to prison."

Once deputies arrived at the house, the victim said Harrison attempted to hide the gun under a couch. Harrison came out of the house after a short standoff.

We spoke with the victim off camera. He didn’t want to go into detail about the incident, but did tell News 4 Tucson he is lucky to be alive.

The manager of the Justice Mobile Home Park, Suzi Riddell, called 911. She said Harrison is no stranger to trouble.

"He has gone other people that live in here with big hornet’s nests and tried to throw them in their door," said Riddell.  "He gets a crazy idea, and wants to go with it."

PCSO said Harrison was booked into the Pinal County Jail for Endangerment, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony Offense, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Threatening and Intimidating. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.

The rattlesnake was found by deputies and released into the wild.
