TUCSON - Tucson is among the highest in property crimes in the nation. A recent incident involved a law firm that handles personal injury cases, and they're taking it personally.

Over the last three weeks, four blue pots filled with rose bushes have been stolen from the Thomas F. Dasse Law Offices.

“We bought the, when they were small,” said Michael Medina, an attorney at Dasse Law Firm. “They've grown quite a bit.”

Medina and attorney Thomas Dasse take pride in their work, including how they landscape their offices. The attorneys believe that taking care of the roses is therapeutic.

“It's a stressful job being an attorney,” said Medina. “So in the middle of the day, we go outside, enjoy the fresh air and kind of relax a little bit with the flowers.”

The lawyers said the theft cost them about $800 to $900, but for them, the money isn't the issue.

“It's the principal,” said Medina. “Just the fact that we're trying to do something nice for the neighborhood her and add some beauty to, and people come in and take it.”

This recent theft gave the saying “stop and smell the roses” a new meaning. Smell the roses, but don't steal them.
