TUCSON- Tucson Police confirmed a woman was killed after an officer involved shooting on the westside Saturday night.
The call came in at 8:54 p.m. near St. Mary's Road and Grande Avenue.
The officer was responding to a call of a suspicious woman. When he arrived, he found her armed with a knife. When she started advancing toward him, he shot her.
Jessica Uribe, 28, was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but passed away today. Tucson Police did not disclose what part of the body the woman was shot.
The officer involved is identified as Officer Jaime Gutierrez, who was not injured. He has served two years with Tucson Police.
The investigation is ongoing.
