PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Prescott police say a Prescott woman won't face charges for an accident in which she ran over her 8-year-old grandson.
The 8-year-old boy is reported in stable condition Friday at Phoenix Children's Hospital where he underwent surgery Thursday night.
Police say the boy had surgery for head and facial lacerations and a broken jaw.
According to police, the boy was swimming at his grandmother's house in Prescott. He decided to warm up by lying on the concrete sidewalk near a driveway Thursday afternoon.
Police say the grandmother started to back up at some point and struck the boy.
The youth's was pinned between a trailer hitch on car and the pavement.
The names of the boy and his grandmother weren't released.
