SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. - Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a San Tan Valley home Sunday afternoon to find a 50-year-old woman shot multiple times; she was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.
At about 2:52 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff's office received a 911 call from a 25-year-old woman who reported that her mother had called her and told her an acquaintance was at her family's home in the 700 block of West Via De Palmas, threatening to shoot the mother with a gun, according to a news release. The daughter was not at the family home at the time.
Deputies arrived at the home within minutes of receiving the call and found a woman lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies and EMS personnel provided aid until she was transported to one hospital by ground, then another by air, the news release states. She was later pronounced dead.
Deputies at the scene tried to speak to the 25-year-old woman who made the 911 call, but she began to hyperventilate and was transported to a hospital as well. Detectives will talk to the woman to learn more about the suspect and motive once she is medically clear, the release states.
