TUCSON - Last night, a 73-year-old woman drove through the front of a Circle K in the Village of Oak Creek, south of Sedona, sheriff's officials confirm.
At about 6:30 p.m. last night, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a car that had driven through the Circle K located at 6051 Highway 79, a news release form the YCSO stated.
The driver pulled into a space in front of the store, and while stopping, her foot slipped onto the accelerator pedal, the release stated. Her car drove over the concrete parking space bumper, through the front window, to the right of the front doors.
No one in the building was injured, nor was the driver, the release states. She did not show signs of impairment from alcohol or physical ailment.
Several store shelves, fixtures and dispensing machines were damage, but the car did not hit and structural supports. The driver was not cited.
