TUCSON - An SUV bent in half and twisted around a metal pole was the scene officers came to on March 23. Despite being rescued, the woman died, 9 days after being pulled from the wreckage.
Police say the accident happened when Rosa Padilla attempted to cut in front of another car when her SUV lost control, went over a curb and spun into a metal pole at Park and Irvington.
Tucson Police say Padilla was going faster than the 40 mph speed limit, but they have not officially ruled that as the cause of the accident.
Padilla died March 31st after being hospitalized in serious condition. Police say her family was by her side.
