PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been arrested after a toddler was apparently abandoned at a Phoenix park.
Phoenix police say bystanders flagged down an officer about 2 p.m. Friday near Solano Park after they found the 2- to 3-year-old girl all alone.
Witnesses say three adult women appeared to leave the area in a mini-van with other children, but left the toddler behind.
Police say officers attempted to find the child's parents for several hours but were unable to and she was then place in custody of child welfare workers.
Two women later showed up to claim the child. Authorities say one woman was arrested and the other woman was questioned by police.
The arrested woman's name hasn't been released and police still don't know why the child was abandoned.
