Winter's last stand 48 hours away

TUCSON - Wind, rain and snow marching toward southern Arizona.

Mostly sunny skies and highs in the 80's are on tap today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. A cold front approaches from the Pacific tomorrow, with gusty winds up to 20 MPH possible. Highs Thursday remain in the upper 70's.

Friday afternoon sees the start of scattered showers and mountain snow. Snow levels drop to 4,000 feet Friday night, with places like Oracle, Sonoita and Bisbee seeing flakes. Expect precip to taper off Saturday morning. Highs this weekend only reach the 50's and 60's.

More sunshine returns Sunday and early next week. Another 80 degree run could be in the cards next Wednesday.
