TUCSON - Wrapping up March on a blustery note.
A powerful Pacific cold front cranks up the Sonoran Wind Machine to start the work week, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Gusty winds up to 20 MPH are expected this afternoon. Winds combine with low relative humidity and dry fuels to create a high fire danger east of Tucson. Cochise County is under a Red Flag Warning today from 1 PM until 7 PM.
Daytime highs reach the low 80's under sunny skies this afternoon. Temperatures gradually cool down this week as winds (and the fire danger) remain elevated through Wednesday. Highs Thursday reach the low 60's, which is below average for early April. Cloud cover increases by Friday before more sunshine breaks out by the weekend.
