Willcox family rescued in rushing wash

WILLCOX - A family of four had to be rescued from the high waters of a wash north of Willcox Thursday evening. The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says the family first escaped their flooded home--only to get their SUV stuck in a wash on Old Stewart Road north of Willcox.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team rescued them after the family waited in the SUV for up to an hour. No one was hurt.

The family was taken into Willcox to make lodging arrangements for the night.
