ANAHEIM - The Arizona Wildcats season once again came to a close in Anaheim.
Frank Kaminsky scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as 2-seed Wisconsin knocked off the top seed Arizona 64-63 in overtime.
Nick Johnson had a chance to win the game, but his jump shot never left his hands before the final buzzer sounded. It bounced out as the Badgers began to celebrate.
The final ten seconds of overtime were filled with questionable calls. Nick Johnson was charged with an offensive foul with 3.2 seconds left as he attempted a go-ahead layup. Moments later, the referees went to the monitor after Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Traevon Strong battled for a loose ball that eventually went out of bounds. Originally called Wisconsin ball, the referees overturned the call and gave Arizona one more chance for victory. But Johnson took one too many dribbles and never got the shot off in time.
Arizona ends their season with a 33-5 record. Coach Sean Miller once again came one win shy of the Final Four. Johnson, the PAC-12 Player of the Year, had 16 points in the loss. Kaleb Tarczewski chipped in with 12 for the Cats.
Wisconsin will meet the winner of Kentucky and Michigan in next Saturday's Final Four. Florida currently awaits the winner of Michigan State and Connecticut.
