Wildcat safety Jared Tevis nominated for Good Works Team

TUCSON - University of Arizona senior safety Jared Tevis has been nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team the university announced Thursday. The award recognizes players for their involvement in the community and charities.

According to the UofA, Tevis has served nearly 30 hours of community service while reaching nearly 2,500 people during his career. He has consistently attended the Sierra Vista Rotary Club events and worked football camps, children's events and visited the Diamond Children's Medical Center in Tucson.

The 2014 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will consist of 22 student-athletes, 11 from the FBS level and 11 more from the FCS, Divisions II and III as well as the NAIA. The final team will be unveiled in September.

Tevis enters his senior season with 177 career tackles. He also has three interceptions, seven forced fumbles and eight pass-breakups during his time as a Wildcat. Tevis is a graduate of Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson.
