TRAFFIC ALERT
DOWNTOWN WEEKEND EVENT - TRAVEL INFORMATION

Downtown Tucson will be the host of the annual Veterans Day Parade on Monday, November 12, 2012. The parade will stage on West Alameda Street between Granada Avenue and Manning House Way beginning at 8 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m., and proceeds east on West Alameda Street and turns north on Church Avenue to Sixth Street/ Saint Mary's Road, proceeds west on Sixth Street/ Saint Mary's Road, then turns south on Granada Avenue and ends at Franklin Street.

Attendees of the parade are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid traffic detours necessary for the event. Below is the vehicular travel restrictions associated with this event. Please note that pedestrian and bicycle access is being maintained in and around road closures. Businesses, parking garages and parking lots are open and accessible.

There are over 15,000 available parking spaces in the Downtown Tucson.

The City State Garage at 498 W. Congress will be open at no charge for this event and may be accessed from Manning House Way via Congress Street.

Veterans Day Parade - Beginning Monday, November 12, 2012, at 8 a.m., until approximately noon, West Alameda Street between Manning House Way and Church Avenue will be closed. Also, Church Avenue between Pennington Street and Sixth Street/Saint Mary's Road will be closed; Sixth Street/Saint Mary's Road between Stone Avenue and Granada Avenue will be closed; Franklin Street between Stone Avenue and Church Avenue; and Granada Avenue between Congress Street and Sixth Street/Saint Mary's Road will be closed.

Motorists driving in the downtown area may experience traffic delays associated with this event and several road improvement projects, including the Sun Link Tucson Streetcar project, so please plan accordingly. Attendees of the parade are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid traffic detours necessary for the event. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in these areas. Please watch for event participants, obey all traffic control, and watch for detour signs and personnel providing traffic control.
