Wednesday winds and cooler temps

TUCSON - Strong winds return to Southern Arizona this afternoon.

A cold front will sweep across the state today bringing the whipping winds back to the region. Tucson will see winds 15-25mph with stronger winds expected south and east of the metro between 25-35mph.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 11am-8pm for parts of Graham, Greenlee and Cochise County. Strong gusts over 40mph will make for difficult driving conditions and ares of blowing dust.

The strong winds will combine with the dry air for a very high fire danger. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11am-8pm for most of Southern Arizona.

We'll shoot for a daytime high near 69° this afternoon which is about 10° below average for early April. Temperatures will stay in the low to mid 70s into the upcoming weekend.
