Meteorologist Jeff Beamish joined KVOA in December 2007 and couldn't be happier to be in Tucson.
Prior to his arrival in southern Arizona, Jeff was a weekend weathercaster for WDIO-TV in Duluth, Minnesota. After a short time covering severe thunderstorms and lake effect snow, sunny Arizona came calling and Jeff didn't pass up the chance.
"The sun, the mountains, the weather...can it get any better than this?" Jeff says, "I am proud to call Tucson my home and to have a chance to show viewers my love for weather."
Jeff is a proud alum of Saint Cloud State University, which is 90 minutes northwest of the Twin Cities. During his two year tenure at his college television station UTVS, Jeff won 3rd place in the nation for the "TV Weathercaster of the Year" category in the 2007 Broadcast Education Association awards. Oh yeah...he's also a huge Husky hockey fan, and stands by the fact that real hockey fans don't cheer for the maroon and gold.
When he's not forecasting the southern Arizona weather, you can find Jeff cheering on his new hometown team, the University of Arizona Wildcats, or enjoying the many features nature has to offer.
Jeff always loves to get viewer photos...if you'd like to send your weather photos to him, drop him a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
